CAXA Draft Symbol Garbling and GDT Error Messages

Symbol garbling or GDT error messages may appear in CAXA Draft due to issues with font linking between Windows fonts and the fonts stored in the [Font] folder of CAXA Draft. These issues can occur after a Windows update, changes in the PC environment, or updating/reinstalling IRONCAD.
This section explains the symptoms of character corruption and GDT errors, as well as how to resolve them.

1. Characterization and GDT errors

The [Common symbols] in the dimension properties may not display correctly and appear as corrupted or unreadable characters.

  1. GDT error message
When attempting to use commands related to geometric tolerancing, a GDT error message may appear and prevent further actions.


2. Solution:

Please check and take action on the following two font files located in:
C:\Program Files\IronCAD\[Your IRONCAD Version Folder]\bin\CAXADraft\Font
  1. Cxgdt.ttf
  2. Cxgdtshp.ttf
*Please carry out all IRONCAD with closed.
Ensure that IRONCAD is completely closed before performing the following steps.
If the issue is not resolved after the changes, restart your PC and then launch IRONCAD again.

3. Verifying the Operation

(1) Start with all application software completely closed.
(2) Restart Windows, then right-click on the icon of your currently installed IRONCAD version → select [Run as administrator], and open a new CAXA Draft drawing.
(3) In the new CAXA Draft drawing, create a dimension and double-click on it to open the Dimension Properties dialog.
(4) Check if the Common Symbols display correctly, or try inserting a Geometric Tolerance (GDT) symbol to verify its display.

If the issue is not resolved by the steps in Section 2. Solution, please try reinstalling IRONCAD.

Uninstall IRONCAD * Please follow all steps in the user guide until completion.

Install IRONCAD * Make sure run the installer as an Administrator.

Warning
If you uninstall only IRONCAD without deleting its folders or registry entries, and then reinstall it, some previous settings or issues may remain, and the problem may not be resolved.
