This section explains how to change the display resolution of elements in a 3D scene.
All the examples shown below use the [Cylinder] from the [Shapes] catalog.
As you move to the right, the cylinders appear more roughed.
This is due to differences in the Surface Smoothness values set for each part.
Changing the [Surface Smoothness] setting adjusts the appearance of part geometry—making it either more roughed or smoother.
- A higher value results in a smoother appearance but increases file size and may impact performance.
- A lower value creates a rougher appearance but keeps the file size smaller and improves performance.

Steps to Batch Change [Surface Smoothness] of Parts in the Scene
[1] Select all parts in the scene at the part level.
[2] In the Scene Browser, click on the [Properties] sheet.
[3] Change the value for [Surface Smoothness].
[4] Press the [Enter] key on your keyboard to apply the change.
