Edit the Link Destination of a Projected View

This guide explains how to change the link between a projected view in CAXA Draft and 3D file.

Purpose:

Use this procedure when reusing 3D models and drawings created in CAXA Draft.
When reusing 3D files (.ics) created in IRONCAD, we recommend using the [Save As] function.
However, using [Save As] on a CAXA Draft file (.exb) does not update the link to the 3D model.
In such cases, you need to use [3D Interface] → [Edit Links] to update the reference.

Procedure:

[1] In the 3D scene, use [Save As] to save the 3D file with a new name.

[2] In CAXA Draft, use [Save As] to save the CAXA Draft file with a new name.

[3] In CAXA Draft, go to the [3D Interface] tab → [Remark] group → execute [Edit Links].

[4] In the [Edit Links] window, double-click the 3D file name and specify the new 3D file.


[5] Confirm that the [Filename] and [In Folder] have been updated.
If the old data is still shown, double-click again to make the change.
