Extruding Along an Arbitrary Line in a Section Profile

A feature that allows extrusion along an arbitrary line within a section profile was introduced in IRONCAD 2026.


Notes
Although this could be configured in previous versions, it was sometimes not possible to create the shape correctly when dealing with complex geometries.

Steps

[1] Select [Extrude] from the [Feature] tab.


[2] Select the [Section] to be extruded.


[3] Under [Properties] → [Outline/Curve Region], select the line or range you want to use for the extrusion.


[4] Under [Properties] → [Behavior Options], set the option to [Link to Existing Profiles].

Warning
When [Outline/Curve Region] is specified, [Link to Existing Profiles] must be selected.
[5] Click [OK] to execute.

Notes
When [Link to Existing Profiles] is selected, modifying the section profile will also change the model's shape.
