IGES or STEP cannot open

If the intermediate file cannot be opened, the following causes may be considered:
  1. The file is being opened using the Open command.

  2. The file size is large.

  3. The intermediate file data may not be in good condition.

1. Using [Open] command

IGES (.Igs and Step (Intermediate files such as stp cannot be opened from Menu → File → Open.
(Double clicks on files or drags and drops to scenes cannot be opened in the same way)

Solution:

The intermediate file. You can open it in the Assembly tab → Import command.

2. Large file size

If the file size is large, the import process may take longer than usual.
Please allow some time and wait until the import process completes.

3. Intermediate files are not in good condition.

If the model is highly complex or the file was not saved properly, the import may fail.

Solution:

Changing the modeling kernel before importing may improve the result.

Ensure that nothing is selected in the scene.
In the Property Browser, go to [Options] → [Modeling Kernel for New Parts]
Change the kernel setting and then proceed with the import.

If the file cannot be imported even after applying the above solutions, please try obtaining the file in a different intermediate format and attempt the import again.
