Hiding Overlapping Portions

When a dimension line overlaps with an extension line, you can hide the overlapping portion of the extension line.
The operation flow is as follows:
  1. Draw the portion to be hidden and apply Wipeout.

  2. Adjust the display order.

Procedure:

[1] In the CAD window, enable Ortho and Dynamic Input from the bottom-right corner.


[2] Create a shape in the Drawing tab → Drawing Group → Poly Line.
Set it as shown below in the instance menu at the bottom left of the CAD screen.


Click the start point, enter a diameter, and press Enter to create a semicircle.

Click the start point again, right-click, and complete a circular polyline.


[3] On the [Draw] tab, in the Drawing group, click Wipeout.


After selecting Wipeout, adjust the settings in the instance menu at the bottom-left of the CAD window as shown below..


[4] Select the polyline you created.
[5] Select the wipeout object. Its properties will display as shown below.

Change the Display Order

[1] Select the dimension line you want to display, then right-click.
Choose Display Order → Top.


[2] As shown below, the extension line will be hidden while the dimension line remains visible.

Printing Settings

When using wipeout, the polyline used to define the wipeout area may still appear when printing. You can control this behavior with the wipeout display and print settings.

[1] With 2D Draft (CAXA Draft) open, go to [Menu] → [Options].
[2] In the left panel, select [File Attribute].
[3] In the Wipeout border, choose one of the following settings:

No border appear

The border will not be displayed and will not be printed..


When hovering over the border with the mouse, it will appear and can be selected.

Show frame

The border will be displayed and will also be printed.

Appear but not print

The border will be displayed in CAD but will not be included in printouts.
