Creating Free Coordinate Dimensions

Creating Free Coordinate Dimensions

This section explains how to create free coordinate dimensions.

Define the starting point and fill in the coordinate dimensions while selecting the X and Y coordinates.
You define a starting point and input coordinate dimension values by selecting X and Y coordinates.
After selecting the location where the dimension lines will be pulled, you can freely specify the X (horizontal) and Y (vertical) coordinates to create the coordinate dimensions.

Procedure:

[1] Click [Free] in the [Coordinate Dimension] of [Annotation] tab.

[2] Select the starting point.

[3] Select the point to be measured.
The coordinate direction (X or Y) switches depending on the direction you move the mouse.

[4] Place the dimension at any desired location.

When [Free] is selected, the instance menu appears at the bottom-left corner of the screen.

Explanation of the Instance Menu

1.Sign/Positive Sign

Right or upward from the base point is considered positive (+), and left or downward is negative (−).
If you want to display a minus (−) sign for dimensions in the negative direction, set this option to With Sign.
If you do not wish to display the minus sign, set it to Without Sign.

2. Draw Origin/Don't Draw Origin

If With Starting Point Mark is selected, a "dot" is drawn at the base point, as shown in the diagram below.

3.Preix

Any symbol or text entered in the Prefix field will appear before the dimension value.

4.Postfix

Any symbol or text entered in the Suffix field will appear after the dimension value.

5.Basic value

If you want to change the measured dimension to a specific value, directly input the desired dimension in this field.
The default [Calculated Value] shown is the measured value.
You can enter a value even during the dimension creation process.
The initial reference value is 0. However, if you want to change the second measured value to a specific value, input the desired reference value before confirming the position of the second measurement point.
