Setting a Custom Property Template

This section explains how to configure custom property templates for Parts, Assemblies, and Sheet Metal Parts.
Once a template is defined, any blocks created from the catalog or assemblies that are generated will automatically include the specified custom properties.

The workflow for setting up a custom property template is as follows:

  1. Add the custom properties you want to use to the Property List.

  2. Create a custom property template.

  3. Assign the template to Parts, Assemblies, or Sheet Metal Parts.

1. Adding Custom Properties to the Property List

Procedure:

[1] From the [Menu], open [Options].
[2] In the left panel, select [Properties List].
Enter the name of the custom property in [Name].
Select the property type in [Type], and then click [Add].
The new custom property will appear at the bottom of the list on the right.


[3] In the Options dialog box, click [Apply] in the lower-right corner.

2. Creating a Custom Property Template

[1] From the [Menu], open [Options].
[2] In the left panel, select [Defaut Properties Setting].
[3] Click [Add Property Templates] and choose the custom property you wish to include.


[4] Enter a Template Name.
Select the desired custom property and click [Add].
The selected custom properties will appear in the Template Properties list on the right.

If you only want to include property items (with empty values), click [Save] to complete template creation.
[5] To set default values, follow the steps below:

<Text Box>

Enter the desired default value.
In the Template Properties list, select the item, specify the Type and Default Value, then click [Set Value].
After setting values, click [Save] to finish creating the template.

<Combo Box>

In the Combo Box field, you can select from the combo box from the value and set it as the default value.

If you set Type to Combo Box, set it in the following steps:


Add the value selected in the combo box in the same step.
After adding it, click Save to finish creating the template.

Setting values in Combo Box can only be used when setting templates.
Info
Combo box values can only be defined at the template level. They cannot be used directly within Part Properties.

3. Assigning a Template to Parts, Assemblies, or Sheet Metal Parts

Procedure:

[1] From the [Menu], open [Options].
[2] In the left panel, select [Template].
[3] In the Default Template section, click the Template field.
Select the template you created.

[4] After selecting the desired template, click [OK] to complete the setup.
NotesTo share a template, export it using [Export Property Templates], which generates an XML file.
Share this XML file with others, who can then import it using [Import Property Templates].
