Create attachments according to product shape
In 3D jig design, there are cases where attachments must be designed to fit complex product shapes.
The contact surface of the attachment can be created using the 3D product geometry.
Procedure:
[1] Place the product data and the shapes that will serve as the base for the attachments, such as [Block].
The product data and blocks must be placed in a way that allows them to be separated.
If trimming is not possible, it means that some parts are not reaching the surface or are otherwise in a state where calculation is not possible.
Please make adjustments by changing the placement or modifying the product geometry.
[2] Click [Trim] in the [Feature] tab.
[3] Select each item:
- Target Part: Product data
- Trimming Part: Data that will become the attachment, such as blocks
- Selections to Keep: The portion you want to retain
[4] Click [OK] at the top left of the [Properties] Browser to complete the operation.
Please refer to the video below.
