Extend Parts/Assembly

Extend Parts/Assembly

This section explains how to extend parts or assemblies in bulk.

Procedure:

[1] Select the part(s) or assembly(assemblies) to be extended.

[2] Go to the [Features] tab and select [Stretch Part/Assembly].

Warning
The [Extend Part/Assembly] function cannot be used on the following types of parts or assemblies:
・Structure parts
・Brep parts
・Trimmed parts

[4] Enter the extension distance in the [Stretch Distance:] field.

Notes
You can also input the [Stretch Distance] by using [Get Distance from Scene].
Click [Get Distance from Scene], then select two faces/edges/vertices in the scene.
The measured distance between them will be used as the [Stretch Distance].
The entered distance corresponds to the extension direction.

[5] To switch the extension direction (arrow direction), use the [Reverse Surface Orientation] icon.

[6] Click [OK].

When working with IntelliShapes, you can select multiple IntelliShapes at the IntelliShape level (highlighted in yellow), and drag one of their handles to extend all selected IntelliShapes simultaneously.
Warning
If the extension reference position overlaps a circle, the circle’s diameter may change, as shown in the figure below. Please be aware of this behavior.

Please refer to the video below.
